We have only seen Oryx in previews and trailers, but they have shown us enough of what he can do, No idea of what his in game mechanics are. We have seen what the Didact is capable of in both comics ,in game cut scenes and, terminals.
Both in command of powerful forces and big ships that can do a lot of damage and armies consisting of soldiers or unwilling victims turned into horrific creatures and powers other worldly. Who would win given what we have seen? When the taken king comes out, no doubt we will have more of an idea of how this would turn out.

Oryx would win no question. We're talking about not just any Hive god here. If you guys thought Crota was a scary Hive god you don't know the half of it. Just read thr Book of Sorrows in the Grimiore and if you're too lazy to do so let me say this. At some point during his millions of years of existing, Oryx encountered a Vex who did a lot of the same as what Didact did. He was artifical and ancient...and Oryx push him back from where it came from with just his Taken army. When it came down to it though the Taken couldn't kill him. So Oryx was like "Okay enough of this" and with Willbreaker at his side weakened the beast enough to where he then dragged into the Ascendant realm and gave it to his sister basically saying it wasnt worth his time.
Conclusion Oryx would shit whip the Didact so badly it's more like how long would it take for Oryx to get annoyed at Didact for existing in imperfect form for him to go "Fuck it you die now."
